The first Globalization Forum in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing

In May 2000, Professor Joseph S. Nye and Sun Fang, Chairman of the Foundation for Globalization Cooperation hosted the first Globalization Forum in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing.

In 2000, the Globalization Forum was staged in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing where Joseph S. Nye was invited by Sun Fang, Chairman of the Foundation for Globalization Cooperation to attend and deliver a keynote speech. Near 200 international experts and scholars were present at the forum and discussed the development of globalization theory from their respective cultural backgrounds in parallel seminars.

The second Globalization Forum in Hainan, Sanya

Approved by the Party Central Committee and State Council, initiated by the Foundation for Globalization Cooperation and People’s Daily, the second globalization forum was opened in Sanya, Hainan Province in Jan 2001. Nadine Desai, UN Deputy Secretary General assumed the role of co-chair and read the congratulatory letter by Kofi A. Annan. Chinese government officials, IMF Executive Chairman, and World Bank officials were present at the forum and delivered speeches. The Foundation for Globalization Cooperation played a major part in successfully opening the Harvard training program initiated by Harvard University and Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The third Globalization Forum in Hangzhou

In November 2005, the Foundation for Globalization Cooperation invited UNESCO to hold the third Globalization Forum in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Xi Jinping who was the Secretary of Zhejiang Party Committee at that time assumed the role of co-chair and delivered an important speech.

UN Secretary General’s Special envoy, UNESCO Secretary General and World Heritage Committee Chairman attended the meeting. Hangzhou Declaration was issued at the forum and pushed China’s Globalization to a new level.

UNESCO and the Foundation for Globalization Cooperation signed cooperation agreement with Hangzhou Municipality.

The forth Globalization Forum in Harvard University

The historic forth forum was ceremoniously unveiled in Harvard University in 2012, organized by Kennedy School and the Foundation for Globalization Cooperation. Harvard President and 8 academy leaders from Kennedy School attended the forum.
